The Sembler Company, which is developing the new Edgewood Retail District, donated $5,000 to EAKC to support the local premiere and the distribution of "East Atlanta: Goin' Through Somes Changes," the award-winning documentary produced by the kids club. The Atlanta premiere on November 23, 2004 at The Earl was an amazing evening showcasing creativity and community. About 150 people attended the screening of the film, which was followed by a question-and-answer session featuring the youth filmmakers, and then a vocal performance by Sauda, a local soul singer and longtime kids club volunteer.
DVDs of the film are now for sale at Joe's Coffee, Trader's, and the East Atlanta Copy Center.
