Key components of our after-school program include tutoring in math and language arts , nutrition education, art enrichment, structured fitness activities, computer skills training, sex education, vocational education and life skills classes. Kids Club is designed for youth ages 7 to 12, while Teen Club is designed for youth ages 13 to 17.
Kids Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Brownwood Recreation Center. Teen Club meets on Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 7:00 pm. Once or twice a month, the youth go on field trips to recreational, educational and cultural venues, usually on Saturdays.
Our overarching goals include helping the youth to learn how to maintain good health and fitness, to meet and exceed academic standards at school, and to prepare them for successful high school and post-secondary educational and job experiences.
