EAKC Receives Grant from the Atlanta Braves Foundation

The East Atlanta Kids Club is pleased to announce we have received a $2,500 grant from the Atlanta Braves Foundation. East Atlanta Kids Club (EAKC) will use the award to support both their Kids Club and Teen Club after-school programs, and to support our  mission to build a promising future for the children of southeast Atlanta. The grant will help fund supplies, field trips and special educational projects.

EAKC’s after-school program occurs in a safe environment where kids are engaged in a variety of educational, recreational and social activities. The program provides tutoring, mentoring and fun fitness and enrichment activities on weekday afternoons and on weekends. The program is designed to prepare kids for successful high school and post-secondary educational and vocational experiences.

The Atlanta Braves Foundation supports numerous community organizations in the metro Atlanta area. The ABF grants funds to organizations that serve youth and focus on health, education and recreation, and award grants through a competitive application and review process.

“The Atlanta Braves Foundation is pleased to support the East Atlanta Kids Club through our 2011 grants program,” said Ericka Newsome-Hill, Executive Director of the Atlanta Braves Foundation. “Our partnership enables us to achieve our mutual goal of fostering educational achievement among youth.”

Park and the entire community.

U.S. Micro Corporation has been a great friend to Kids Club for the past

three years, providing us with computer and networking equipment, financial support and most recently, the gift of a much-needed school bus.
