Friendship Connection
The Friendship Connection is a one-on-one mentoring program that allows an adult to get to know a particular child and to establish a meaningful, long-term relationship. Adults and youth make a minimum one-year commitment to the relationship. The expectation is that Friendship Connection mentors will spend at least 5 hours per month with their same-gender mentee, engaging them in fun, educational and healthy activities.

Our youth members who are currently matched with a Friend tell us they treasure these friendships. Currently about 30% of the youth in our program are on the waiting list for a mentor.
Adults who wish to become a one-on-one mentor must undergo a background check and attend a volunteer orientation for the Friendship Connection program, currently offered once a month. Please consult our program calendar to find the next Friendship Connection (FC) orientation date.
Youth and parents who would like to learn more about Kids Club and how to get a child involved in The Friendship Connection should contact our Volunteer Manager, Brad McKinley, at bmckinley@eastatlantakids.org or 404-627-8050.

My son Gabriel has gotten so much from his friendship with his mentor. I am so grateful for this wonderful program.
