Turner Volunteers Join Us For Renovation, Reading and Healthy Eating

On Saturday, Sept. 11 about 60 employees from Turner Broadcasting came to Brownwood Recreation Center for a fun and enriching day of volunteer service.
The Turner folks and many of their children joined the youth members of East Atlanta Kids Club in a variety of educational activities, including reading, literacy games, and creating decorative bookmarks.
In the kitchen, volunteers and kids engaged in healthy eating activities, learning how to make low-fat breakfast burritos and tasty fruit snacks. Afterwards, the group went outside for a rousing game of kickball.
Meanwhile, a crew worked in the main activity room to construct and install dozens of sound-absorbing acoustic panels, which will greatly enhance the space for study time and a variety of meetings and gatherings.
Turner Broadcasting supported the projects with a $2000 donation. This is the second time that EAKC has been chosen as a project site for the annual Turner Volunteer Day, and we are grateful for the support and enthusiastic service provided by Turner employees.
